Background:  The Nature Conservancy (TNC) requests a letter of collaboration from the BCC for the FY 2023 NOAA Climate Resilience Regional Challenge Grant Proposal: Bridging Resilience Gaps Across Political Boundaries in the Perdido Watershed.

TNC will join partners from Alabama and in Florida across the Perdido River, the waters to which this watershed drains and the geographical and geopolitical boundary between the two states, in implementing a suite of projects to increase resilience, reduce risk, promote cross-boundary regional collaboration, ensure equity, and build enduing capacity. Among the many actions proposed, including land acquisition, stream restoration, stewardship / land management, and water quality monitoring, Baldwin County looks forward to a role implementing stormwater management measures and providing / enhancing recreational access opportunities in the Perdido Watershed.
