BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: Bids opened in the Purchasing Conference Room on January 10, 2024, at 1:30 P.M., for the Provision of Push-To-Talk over Cellular (PoC) Services & Equipment Monthly Rental. Three (3) bids were received. Bids were evaluated by Brian Peacock, CIS Director, Wanda Gautney, Purchasing Director, and the Highway Department management team. G&H Systems, LLC, offered equipment purchase vs. rental, which did not meet the bid specifications. T-Mobile USA, Inc., bid on two (2) types of radios offered through the Sourcewell Contract #080119SPT, provided a blanket exception to the bid specifications, and did not bid on any optional accessories. Staff recommends the Commission award the bid to the lowest responsible bidder, Two-Way Communications, Inc., dba 2-Way, Inc., who met the specifications. Award Listing and Bid Tabulation attached for review.
Bid #WG24-04 that was due to open on November 30, 2023, at 1:30 P.M. did not receive any bid submissions. Mr. Roger Rendleman, County Administrator, approved the re-bid of the Provision of Push-To-Talk over Cellular (PoC) Services & Equipment Monthly Rental on December 14, 2023.
Previous Commission action/date:
11/07/2023 meeting: Approved the specifications and authorized the Purchasing Director to place a competitive bid for the Provision of Push-To-Talk over Cellular (PoC) Services & Equipment Monthly Rental; and further, authorized the Chairman/Purchasing Division Commissioner for the Baldwin County Commission to approve any necessary addendums or clarifications if required after the bid was advertised.
