Adopt a Proclamation which proclaims the month of February 2024, as “Black History Month” in Baldwin County, Alabama.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: Black History Month is an annual observance originating in the United States, where it is also known as African American History Month. It is an annual celebration of achievements by black people and a time for recognizing the central role of blacks in U.S. history.
This year’s theme for Black History Month is African Americans and the Arts. In the fields of visual and performing arts, literature, fashion, folklore, language, film, music, architecture, culinary, and other forms of cultural expression, the African American influence has been paramount.
The Archives and History staff will be in attendance to accept the proclamation.
