STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
Award Bid #WG24-08 to the lowest bidder, Lower Alabama Heating, Cooling & Refrigeration, LLC, in the amount of $216,000.00 for the purchase and installation of two (2) new 70 Ton Air-cooled Chiller Units at the Baldwin County Central Annex II building located in Robertsdale, Alabama and authorize the Chairman to execute the Contract.
Contract is effective 233 days from the date of the Notice to Proceed.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: Bids were opened in the Purchasing Conference Room on January 25, 2024, at 1:30 P.M. Three (3) bids were received. Staff recommends the Commission award the bid for the Purchase and Installation of two (2) new 70 Ton Air-cooled Chiller Units at Baldwin County Central Annex II Building Located in Robertsdale, Alabama to the lowest bidder, Lower Alabama Heating, Cooling & Refrigeration, LLC., per the attached award listing, and authorize the Chairman to execute the contract. Bid Tabulation attached for review.
Previous Commission action/date:
12/19/2023 meeting: Approved the specifications and authorized the Purchasing Director to place Competitive Bid #WG24-08 for the Purchase and Installation of two (2) new 70 Ton Air-Cooled Chiller Units at the Baldwin County Central Annex II Building located in Robertsdale, Alabama; and further, authorized the Chairman/Purchasing Division Commissioner for the Baldwin County Commission to approve any necessary addendums or clarifications if required after the bid was advertised.
