STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
Take the following actions:
1) Approve the employment of Dayemon Kelly to fill the open Engineering Technician II position (#1072) at a grade 311 ($20.94 per hour / $43,555.20 annually); and
2) Reclassify the Planning Technician III position (#990), grade 312, to Planning Technician II position, grade 311; and
3) Approve the promotion of Calla McKenzie from the Planning Technician I position (#5710) grade 310 ($19.75 per hour / $41,080.00 annually), to fill the open Planning Technician II position (#990) at a grade 311 ($21.33 per hour / $44,366.40 annually); and
4) Approve the updated organizational chart for the Planning and Zoning Department.
These actions shall be effective no sooner than February 12, 2024.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: The Engineering Technician II position was newly created during the FY24 Budget Cycle, and the Planning Technician III position was vacated due to the retirement of the previous employee. The Deputy Planning Director respectfully requests that the above recommendations are approved.
