BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: Bids were opened in the Purchasing Conference Room on March 7, 2024, at 1:30 P.M. Two (2) bids were received. Staff recommendation is to award the lowest bidder, Long-Lewis of the Shoals, Inc., who met the specifications for the purchase of one (1) or more 2023 Ford Explorer XLT RWD (SUV) or equivalent. The purchase of the vehicles will fulfill outstanding purchase orders for various departments’ FY2023 budget and purchase additional vehicles for various departments’ FY2024 budgets. Bid tabulation is attached for review.
Previous Commission action/date: 2/20/2024 meeting: Rejected the bids received from Buster Miles Ford, Inc., and Cooper Chevrolet, Inc. for the Purchase of One (1) or More 2023 Ford Explorer XLT RWD (SUV) or Equivalent and authorized the Purchasing Director to re-bid for the vehicle; and authorize the Chairman/Purchasing Division Commissioner for the Baldwin County Commission to approve any necessary addendums or clarifications if required after the bid was advertised.
