BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: As stated in the Baldwin County Commission’s adopted strategic goals, “it is imperative that we prioritize public safety to ensure a safe and thriving environment for all.” In support of this goal, the Baldwin County Highway Department routinely evaluates intersections for safety improvements. These improvements may range from better signage, turn lanes, traffic signals, and even roundabouts. The Highway Department team recently evaluated the intersection of Red Hill Road and Red Hill Road Extension in Bay Minette and determined a three-way stop and geometric improvements are warranted. The Highway Department team is prepared to implement these improvements during the summer break for Baldwin County Public Schools to minimize interruptions to residents. Work would begin in June and is estimated to take approximately 30 days to complete.
