Recommendation
Authorize a payment in the amount of $34,880.00 to ALDOT for the remaining federal share portion of the insurance deductible collected from the responsible party’s insurance provider for the following public transit vehicle:

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: On September 18, 2023, a BRATS bus was involved in an accident resulting in County Risk Services (CRS) declaring the vehicle a total loss. CRS determined the actual cash value of the vehicle to be $54,800.00. Baldwin County Commission is required to remit 80% of the total proceeds in excess of $5,000 to ALDOT. In December 2023, BCC remitted $4,960 to ALDOT from the salvage value proceeds. CRS recently recovered and remitted $40,000.00 for the deductible withheld, which has been deposited into account 143.47905 Insurance Recoveries.
Previous Commission action/date:
12/05/2023 - Approved BRATS to retain for salvage the transit vehicle totaled in the September 18, 2023 accident and remit $4,960.00 of the $11,200.00 salvage value to ALDOT.
