STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Take the following actions:

1) Accept the State Homeland Security Grant Program Subgrant Award in the amount of $46,908.00 to purchase four (4) portable incident staging lights; and

2) Approve the Cooperative Agreement between Baldwin County Commission (Emergency Management Agency), and Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) for the period of October 1, 2023, through September 30, 2024; and

3) Authorize the EMA Planning & Grants Division Manager to submit the agreement and any other documents related to this grant electronically through the ALEA grants portal on behalf of the Baldwin County Commission.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Background:  The State Homeland Security Grant Program is a federally funded FEMA grant program focused on enhancing the ability to prevent, protect against, respond to, and recover from terrorist attacks. 

 

Previous Commission action/date:  July 18, 2023 (Agenda Item HA1) - Approved EMA to apply for the Homeland Security Grant in the amount of $46,908.00 for four (4) portable incident staging lights.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

 

Total cost of recommendation:  $46,908.00 to be offset by grant funds

 

Budget line item(s) to be used:  Fund 280 Federal Grants
