BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: Received a request from Hunter Smith, Captain of Bay Minette Fire Department (BMFD), to waive the facility use and fishing tournament fees for the BMFD Bass Tournament at Live Oak Landing on Saturday, May 10, 2025. All proceeds from the tournament will help fund the BMFD’s fire prevention programs. Through these programs, the BMFD is able to teach approximately 1,700 - 2,000 school age children about fire safety. Policy #2.23 - “Reservation of Live Oak Landing and Bicentennial Park Facilities”, establishes the fee structure for fishing tournaments and facility use, among other things. All requests for fishing tournament fee waivers must be approved by the Baldwin County Commission.
Previous Commission action/date: July 19, 2022 - The BCC revised Policy #2.23 update fee structure for Bicentennial Park and Live Oak Landing.
