Recommendation
Approve Resolution No. 2020-027 and authorize the Chairman to execute a construction funding agreement with the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) for the following:
1) Intersection improvements at County Road 71 at State Route 59 for an estimated cost of $105,058.83 with ALDOT funding the project; and
2) Signal installation at County Road 28 and State Route 59 for an estimated cost of $209,402.64 with ALDOT and Baldwin County each providing 50% ($104,701.32).
(Agreement shall be effective on the date of the approval of the Governor of Alabama and shall terminate on January 1, 2022, unless terminated by either party upon the delivery of a thirty (30) day notice of termination.)

Background:
The Alabama Department of Transportation and Baldwin County Highway Department have determined the need for intersection improvements at County Road 71 and State Route 59 and the installation of a traffic signal at County Road 28 and State Route 59. The intersection improvements at County Road 71 and State Route 59 will be funded 100% by ALDOT at an estimated cost of $105,058.83 and the installation of a traffic signal at County Road 28 and State Route 59 will be split 50/50 with ALDOT at an estimated cost of $209,402.64 with each providing $104,701.32.
The Town of Summerdale has agreed to assist the County with the funding of the traffic signal at County Road 28 and State Route 59 in the amount of $75,000.00.
