STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Approve the Contract with Thompson Engineering, Inc., for the Engineering/Environmental Services for County Road 65 Corridor Extension Project - Paul Cleverdon Road Section in the estimated amount of $499,500.00 and authorize the Chairman to execute the Contract.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Background:  The Commission, during their February 20, 2024, regular meeting authorized County staff to begin contract negotiations with Thompson Engineering, Inc., so that a final recommendation could be brought to the Commission for approval. Thompson Engineering, Inc., has submitted a Contract for the Engineering/Environmental Services for County Road 65 Corridor Extension Project - Paul Cleverdon Road Section which includes 6 Tasks in order to complete the contract scope, these include the following:

1. Topographic and Property Surveys in the amount of $43,000.00

2. Geotechnical Engineering Services in the amount of $33,500.00

3. Environmental Services

   3A. Wetland Delineation, Threatened and Endangered Species Survey, and 

          Nationwide Permitting (If Applicable) in the amount of $11,600.00

   3B. Cultural Resources Survey (As Needed) in the amount of $3,200.00

   3C. USACE/ADEM Joint Application and Notification (As Needed) in the amount of

          $30,200.00 NTE

   3D. NPDES Permitting in the amount of $5,000.00

4. Hydraulic Analysis in the amount of $15,500.00

5. Roadway and Intersection Plans

   5A. Roadway Plans in the amount of $224,500.00

   5A. CR-32 Signal Plans in the amount of $19,500.00

   5A. CR-34 Roundabout Plans in the amount of $108,000.00

6. Bidding Assistance in the amount of $5,500.00

    The total estimated Contract is $499,500.00

 

Previous Commission action/date: 

2/20/2024 meeting: Authorized staff to begin negotiations with Thompson Engineering, Inc., so that a final recommendation for award can be made for the Engineering/Environmental Services for County Road 65 Corridor Extension Project - Paul Cleverdon Road Section.

 

11/21/2023 meeting: Approved the attached Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for Engineering/Environmental Services for County Road 65 Corridor Extension

Project - Paul Cleverdon Road Section and authorize the Purchasing Director to advertise the RFQ.

 

9/28/2023: The Commission approved during the FY 2024 budget meeting $4.8M of GOMESA funds to be used for this project.
