BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Previous Commission action/date:
March 19,2019 - The Commission approved Resolution # 2019-058 and authorized the Chairman to execute an agreement between the Baldwin County Commission and the Alabama Department of Transportation for the funding of Preliminary Engineering, Right-of-Way, Utility Relocation, Construction and Construction Engineering Inspection for a Roundabout at County Road 13 and County Road 44 (Twin Beech Road). (This agreement shall be effective upon full execution and shall be in effect until the project has been completed and reimbursements are complete. This agreement may be terminated by either party upon delivery of a thirty (30) day notice of termination.)
February 5, 2019 - The Commission approved an Intergovernmental Service Agreement with the City of Fairhope for the construction of a roundabout at Twin Beech Road and County Road 13.
August 21, 2018 - The Commission authorized the Highway Department to submit documentation and application for a grant under the Federal Highway Administration - Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) for a proposed roundabout on County Road 13 at County Road 44; and authorized the Chairman to execute a letter of intent and any other grant related documents as required.
Background:
Baldwin County has been awarded funding from the Alabama Department of Transportation through the Federal Highway Admiration Highway Safety Improvement Program for the installation of a Roundabout at County Road 13 and County Road 44. This Resolution and Letter of Intent is required as part of the Project Initiation Package.
