STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
Take the following actions:
1) Approve the Amendment to the Contract with CrowderGulf, LLC, for Pre-event Debris Removal & Disposal Services from County Right-of-Ways within Unincorporated Baldwin County to add a line item for PUSH Crews to the Contract; and
2) Authorize the Chairman to execute the amendment.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: The Commission, during their regular meeting on June 4, 2024, executed the Contract with CrowderGulf, LLC, for Pre-event Debris Removal & Disposal Services from County Right-of-Ways within Unincorporated Baldwin County. Frank Lundy, County Engineer, and Mark Acreman, Assistant County Engineer, request the Commission to approve the amendment from CrowderGulf, LLC, adding a line item to the contract for PUSH Crew Services at a proposed rate of $325.00/hour if needed. The purpose of this amendment is to provide a back-up option for the County to utilize contractor services to assist with initial roadway clearing if a situation arises where County crews or other volunteer work groups cannot perform the task. This line item would be utilized as an option of last resort. Staff recommends the Commission approve and authorize the Chairman to execute the amendment.
Previous Commission action/date: 06/04/2024 meeting: Awarded Bid #WG24-23 - Pre-event Debris Removal & Disposal Services from the County Right-of-Ways within Unincorporated Baldwin County to the lowest responsible bidder, Crowder Gulf, LLC, as per the bid tabulation and authorized the Chairman to execute the Contract. (Contract shall be effective and commence immediately upon the same date as its full execution, and the same shall terminate upon the expiration of twenty-four (24) months, with an option to extend for one twelve (12) month period or until such time that a new contract can be bid and awarded).
04/02/24 meeting: 1) Approved the specifications and authorized the Purchasing Director to place a competitive bid for the Pre-Event Debris Removal & Disposal Services from the County Right-of-Ways within Unincorporated Baldwin County; and 2) Further, authorized the Chairman/Purchasing Division Commissioner for the Baldwin County Commission to approve any necessary addendums or clarifications if required after the bid is advertised.
