STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
Approve the Baldwin Regional Area Transit System (BRATS) Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan Version 5, in accordance with Section 5311 and 5307 Federal Transit Administration grant requirements.
The Safety Plan will supersede any previously approved Safety Plan(s) specific to BRATS.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: Federal regulations (49 CFR Part 673) require public transit agencies adopt a Safety Plan and subsequently perform annual reviews and applicable updates. BRATS staff has reviewed the previous version of the safety plan and has made updates as summarized in Appendix B of the Plan. The Safety Targets have been updated to reflect the most recent safety performance data and will be included in the Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP) prepared by the Eastern Shore Metropolitan Planning Organization (ESMPO).

12/20/2022: Approved BRATS Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan Version 3.
12/21/2021: Approved BRATS Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan Version 2.
