STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
Pursuant to Section 17-11-2 of the Code of Alabama (1975), recognize the performance of and designate the place / office where the Absentee Election Manager shall perform such public duties for the applicable absentee election time period recognized by state law for the June 30, 2026, Baldwin County Planning District 3 Zoning Election, as follows:
Place: Baldwin County Courthouse, Bay Minette
Office: Office of Circuit Clerk, 28th Judicial Circuit
8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Monday - Friday)

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: The Judge of Probate has signed the Order setting the date for the Planning District 3 (Stockton) election for June 30, 2026. The voting location for the election will be the Stockton Civic Club at 54060 State Highway 59, Stockton, Alabama 36579.
Previous Commission action/date:
04/07/2026 - Adopted Resolution #2026-072 which certifies the accuracy of the petition for Zoning Election for Planning District 3 and instructed the Judge of Probate to provide a Zoning Election for Planning District 3, to be held no later than July 7, 2026.
03/03/2026 - Pursuant to Alabama Code §45-2-261.07, accepted the notice of intent to request a referendum for Planning and Zoning purposes for the current Planning District 3 as located in Voting Precincts 2 and 12.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Total cost of recommendation: $150 per day worked not to exceed 46 days, per election (Absentee Election Manager compensation) - $6,900.00 maximum.
Pursuant to Ala. Code Section 17-11-14 - Compensation of Absentee Election Manager: The time periods during which the services are required by the Absentee Election Manager and the Assistant to the Absentee Election Manager are 55 days prior to the election date, the election day, and the seven-day period following the election; however, the total number of days worked may not exceed 46 days.
