STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Take the following actions:

1) Approve the Purchasing Director to place a competitive bid for the County Road 48 Drainage Improvements Project; and

2) Approve the Chairman to execute any project related documents.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Background: 

Due to damage from a rain event on June 16, 2023, the County was awarded Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) emergency repair funds for the County Road 48 Drainage Improvements project. The estimated cost of emergency repairs is $10,100.80 and will be funded 100% with Federal Emergency Relief Funds. The estimated cost of permanent repairs will be $157,724.48 and funded with 80% Federal Emergency Relief Funds and 20% County funds.

 

Previous Commission action/date:  October 17, 2023 - The Commission adopted Resolution #2024-019 and authorized the Chairman to execute an agreement between the Baldwin County Commission and Alabama Department of Transportation for the funding of emergency repairs, preliminary engineering, permanent construction and construction engineering inspection for the County Road 48 drainage repairs FHWA disaster project.
