Recommendation

Approve the request from the Mobile Bay National Estuary Program to utilize Baldwin Regional Area Transit System (BRATS) for transportation to tour Pine Run Stream Restoration Project on December 3, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at a donated cost of $223.30.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Previous Commission action/date: N/A.

 

Background: Jason Kudulis with Mobile Bay National Estuary Program submitted a request for transportation service to Ashley Campbell for the use of one (1) BRATS bus to transport participants of the Stream Restoration Workshop from the Spanish Fort Community Center at 7361 Spanish Fort Blvd, Spanish Fort, Alabama, to the Pine Run Stream Restoration Project at 8501 Pine Run, Spanish Fort, Alabama, on December 3, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  

 

The cost of one bus for this event is $63.80 per hour for 3.5 hours which includes the commute time to and from the BRATS hub, pre-trip, and post-trip inspections. Total cost of transportation services is $223.30. This request does not meet the requirements for the Elected Government Officials or Qualified Human Service Organization; therefore, BRATS requests approval from the Baldwin County Commission to donate this service to comply with federal charter regulations.
