STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
Approve Baldwin Regional Area Transit System (BRATS) through the Clerk/Treasurer, to auction five (5) BRATS vehicles listed below on GovDeals.com at a minimum bid price of $1,500 with allowable bids in $100.00 increments.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: The five (5) transit vehicles requested for auction are no longer reliable for service and have met the requirements of the Federal Transit Administration for disposal. Per the Alabama Department of Transportation Transit Vehicle Disposition Replacement Policy, BRATS requested disposal approval from the ALDOT on August 13, 2024, and received approval and vehicle titles on August 21, 2024.
If the vehicle is dispositioned at a value less than $5,000.00, all proceeds from the auction will remain with BRATS to be applied toward the purchase of a new transit vehicle. If the vehicle is dispositioned at a value greater than $5,000.00, BRATS may retain $5,000.00 plus 20% of the proceeds over $5,000.00. The remaining 80% of the proceeds over $5,000.00 must be remitted to ALDOT.
