BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: Bids were opened in the Purchasing Conference Room on August 12, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. Two (2) bids were received. Jessica Stonesifer, Director of Facilities and Maintenance, is requesting that the Commission reject the bids received because the bid amounts exceed the budgeted amount approved by the Commission in FY 2026 budget. The Commission budgeted $135,000.00 for this project. The lowest bid amount received was $419,000.00.
Previous Commission action/date:
07/07/2026 meeting: 1) Approved the specifications and authorized the Purchasing Director to place Competitive Bid #WG26-38 for the Purchase and Installation of HVAC Upgrade to Baldwin County Annex II Building located in Robertsdale, Alabama; and 2) Further, authorized the Chairman/Purchasing Division Commissioner for the Baldwin County Commission to approve any necessary addendums or clarifications if required after the bid is advertised.
