STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
Award Bid #WG25-36 for the Annual Sand Removal, Sifting and Disposition of Sand from County Right-of-Ways onto the Beach on the Fort Morgan Peninsula to the lowest responsible bidder, Parten Smith, Inc., as per the Award Listing and authorize the Chairman to execute the Contract. (Effective date of Contract begins on the same date as its full execution for twenty-four (24) months with a twelve (12) month renewal option.)

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: Bids were opened in the Purchasing Conference Room on July 22, 2025, at 1:30 P.M. Four (4) bids were received. This bid will be for a two (2) year period with the option for a twelve (12) month extension. Staff recommends the Commission award the bid to lowest responsible bidder, Parten Smith, Inc., and authorize the Chairman to execute the Contract. Bid Tabulation attached for review.
Previous Commission action/date:
06/24/2025 meeting: 1) Approved the specifications and authorized the Purchasing Director to place a competitive bid for the Annual Sand Removal, Sifting and Disposition of Sand from County Right-of-Ways onto the Beach on the Fort Morgan Peninsula; and 2) Further, authorized the Chairman/Purchasing Division Commissioner for the Baldwin County Commission to approve any necessary addendums or clarifications if required after the bid is advertised.
