STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
Take the following actions:
1) Approve the quote from Tindle Construction in the amount of $45,630.00 for Renovations of Courtroom No. 1 located on the first floor of the Bay Minette Courthouse and authorize the Chairman to execute the Contract and Certificate of Compliance; and
2) Authorize the Purchasing Director to issue a Purchase Order to Delta Flooring in the amount of $16,587.00 for the installation of new carpet in Judge Scott Taylor’s office suite area; and
3) Authorize the use of Local Assistance and Tribal Consistency Fund (LATCF) balance in the total amount of $62,217.00 for both projects.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: Baldwin County Circuit Judge, Scott Taylor, is requesting the Commission approve the renovations of Courtroom No. 1 located in the Bay Minette Courthouse. A quote was obtained in the amount of $45,630.00 to complete the renovations that the Judge is requesting. The Judge believes that the renovations to his Courtroom will improve the safety of his staff and the public during court. The Judge is also requesting that the carpet be replaced in his office suite area. The carpet in his area was installed in 2007. He believes the carpet could be causing his staff’s ongoing allergies and breathing issues. The quote received to replace the carpet throughout his office is $16,587.00. The total amount of renovations and carpet replacement is $62,217.00. Quotes attached for review. Staff recommendation is to approve the quote for the renovations and carpet totaling $62,217.00 and authorize the Chairman to execute the Contract and Certificate of Compliance and authorizing the use of Local Assistance and Tribal Consistency Fund (LATCF) balance.
