BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: National Senior Vice Commander Dr. Andrew Del Gadio of Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 2206 and members of the Military Order of the Purple Heart will be present to accept the Proclamation.
Mr. Steve Carey with the Veteran’s Commission will provide a presentation regarding the upcoming Purple Heart Salute, an event hosted by the City of Daphne, the Veterans Commission, and the South Alabama Veterans Council, to be held at the Daphne Civic Center on August 7, 2026, to help citizens understand and appreciate the meaning of National Purple Heart Day.
Previous Commission action/date: August 5, 2025 - Adopted a Proclamation proclaiming August 7, 2025, as "National Purple Heart Day" in Baldwin County, Alabama.
