STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Adopt Resolution #2024-035 and approve an agreement between the Baldwin County Commission and the Alabama Department of Transportation for the installation, operation, and/or maintenance of a traffic control signal on State Highway 104 at Langford Road.

End

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Background:  A traffic control signal will be installed on State Highway 104 at Langford Road to accommodate increased traffic due to additional Fairhope Falls Subdivision development. A traffic signal warrant analysis was conducted by Neel-Schaffer as part of a traffic study requirement for Fairhope Falls Subdivision, Phases 6 and 7. It was determined that existing traffic volumes plus the addition of the projected traffic volumes from development meet the minimum requirements for installation of traffic signal. During the January 6, 2022, Baldwin County Planning Commission meeting, Fairhope Falls Subdivision, Phase 6, received preliminary plat approval contingent upon the traffic signal at State Highway 104 and Langford Road intersection being installed prior to final plat approval.
