Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute Change Order #1 in the amount of $50,001.10 with Arrington Curb & Excavation, Inc., for Project No. HW24097 - Intersection Improvements on Hinote Glass Road at State Route 59.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: The Highway Department is submitting for Commission approval Change Order #1 in the amount of $50,001.10 for Project No. HW24097 - Intersection Improvements on Hinote Glass Road at State Route 59. The Change Order is necessary due to unforeseen conditions that impacted the planned quantities and will not increase the contract time.
Mark Acreman, Assistant County Engineer, submitted a letter explaining why the Change Order is in excess of the normal 10%. Due to the extraordinary circumstances with the project the change order is necessary to complete this project.
Previous Commission action/date:
06/24/2025 meeting: 1) Approved the transfer of $325,992.66 of FY24 and FY25 GOMESA funds from the completed Project No. HW22018 - Hinote Glass Road from State Route 59 to County Road 65 Dirt Road Paving to Project No. HW24097 - Intersection Improvements on Hinote Glass Road at State Route 59; and 2) Awarded the bid for Project No. HW24097 - Intersection Improvements on Hinote Glass Road at State Route 59 to the lowest bidder, Arrington Curb & Excavation, Inc., in the Bid Amount $325,992.66; Construction Time: 45 working days; and authorized the Chairman to execute the Contract.
01/28/2025 meeting: 1) Approved the Purchasing Director to place a competitive bid for the Hinote Glass Road at State Route 59 Intersection Improvements Project; and 2) Approved the Chairman to execute any project related documents.
