BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Background:  The Baldwin County Commission received a request from representatives of the Baldwin County America 250 Committee seeking a letter of support for the installation of signage recognizing Revolutionary War sites in Baldwin County. This signage is part of a broader statewide and regional effort to commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the founding of the United States and to educate the traveling public about Alabama’s role in the American Revolution. The proposed signage would be located along Interstate 10 and are intended to increase public awareness of historically significant Revolutionary War actions in the region.
