Recommendation
Adopt Baldwin County Commission Policy #8.23 authorizing credit cards as an acceptable method of payment and establish rules and regulations as required by Section 11-103-1, Code of Alabama 1975.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: Chapter 11-103, Code of Alabama 1975, establishes the authorization for counties and municipalities to accept credit cards as a form of payment for services, taxes and fees and addresses a few other matters related to accepting credit cards.
One matter is the establishment of rules and regulations addressing the processing and administrative fees associated with the acceptance of credit cards. Credit cards have been accepted for over thirty years; however, the establishment of the current procedures and processes are not clearly identified in the county minutes.
