Recommendation
Approve the project design fee increase of $45,000.00 for intersection improvements at County Road 32 and County Road 9 for additional required project design work. Total project design fee will be $140,500.39.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: Commission Policy #9.10 (Engineering, Environmental Monitoring and Surveying Services) allows the County Engineer to negotiate and initiate contracts and services up to $100,000.00 from an established list of On-Call Contract consultants. Michael Baker International, an on-call contract consultant, was selected to perform the project design for intersection improvements at County Road 32 and County Road 9 for a total cost of $95,500.39. During the design phase, a concrete bridge culvert located within the project limits was determined to be in poor condition and needed replacement. The additional cost for design and associated work is $45,000.00 and increases the total cost of the design fee to $140,500.39. Commission approval is needed since the design fee now exceeds $100,000.00. Funds for project design were approved in FY 2024 Budget.
