Recommendation
Approve the requested route for The Medical Society of Mobile County’s 19th Annual Tour de L.A.D.R. (Lower Alabama Doctors) Bike Ride on Saturday, April 6, 2024. The ride will begin at 7:30 a.m. at Beckwith Lane at County Road 1, beginning at Mary Ann Beach Road, following to Scenic Highway 98 to St. Francis at the Point Church, and back to Beckwith Lane, ending at approximately 10:00 a.m.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: On January 17, 2024, Commission staff received correspondence from Ms. Wendy Bedsole, Executive Director of the Medical Society of Mobile County, regarding its 19th Annual Lower Alabama Doctors Bike Ride on Saturday, April 6, 2024. The Medical Society Mobile County will provide personnel and volunteers to coordinate the event. All proceeds from this event will benefit Rap-A-Hope, a camp for children with cancer and the Mobile Medical Endowment Trust.
The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office and Fairhope Police Department will assist with traffic control and security.
Previous Commission action/date: February 24, 2023 - Approved the 18th Annual Tour de L.A.D.R. (Lower Alabama Doctors) Bike Ride.
