STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Take the following actions:

 

1) Approve the employment of Samuel Bishop to fill the open Landscape Technician I position (#5761) at a grade 306 ($19.00 per hour / $39,520.00 annually) due to education and experience to be effective no sooner than May 26, 2026; and

 

2) Approve the employment of Carlos Gutierrez to fill the open Landscape Technician I position (#5139) at a grade 306 ($17.88 per hour / $37,190.40 annually) due to education and experience to be effective no sooner than May 26, 2026; and

 

3) Approve the demotion of Bradley Johns from the Traffic Control Technician III position (#914) grade 310 ($22.61 per hour / $47,028.80 annually), in the Highway Traffic Operations Department (11153135) to fill the open Landscape Technician I position (#1089) at a grade 306 ($20.75 per hour / $43,160.00 annually), in the Parks and Recreation Department (14457200) to be effective no sooner than June 1, 2026.

Background:  The Landscape Technician I positions were vacated by the resignations of the previous employees. The Parks and Recreation Director respectfully requests that the above recommendations are approved.
