Approve the Chairman to sign a letter of support for the Prodisee Pantry North Project, a new food pantry and resource center in Stockton, Alabama, that will serve residents across north Baldwin County.
End
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: Prodisee Pantry is seeking GOMESA grant funding for the Prodisee Pantry North Project. This letter of support will strengthen Prodisee Pantry's grant application and serve as an endorsement for future private fundraising efforts dedicated to this initiative.
The Prodisee Pantry North Project is an investment in the health and well-being of north Baldwin County residents. The food pantry and resource center will be located on the corner of Highway 225 and County Road 23 (Lakeview Road) in Stockton, Alabama, on land donated to Prodisee Pantry by the Baldwin County Commission.
This facility will operate as a year-round resource for families and individuals experiencing food insecurity or other crises. Prodisee Pantry North Project will strengthen continuity of care and improve access to essential resources for north Baldwin communities.
In times of emergency, the facility will function as a high-capacity distribution point for food, water, and other essential supplies and services during and after coastal disasters, supporting seamless disaster-aid traffic flow. It will also serve as a dedicated receiving area for transfer and box trucks delivering relief supplies, strengthening staging, unloading, and on-site coordination.
