STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
Take the following actions:
1) Authorize the Purchasing Director to place a competitive bid to extend County Road 20 from Hickory Street South to County Road 65; and
2) Authorize the Chairman to execute any project-related documents.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: This project will support the Baldwin County Commission’s Strategic Plan Goals for Growth and Infrastructure Balance and Public Safety by improving and expanding the local road system. The project will provide 1 mile of new paved roadway, a 160-foot bridge, and intersection improvements on County Road 20 connecting County Road 65 to State Road 59 in Foley. This construction project is being funded through the U.S. Treasury RESTORE ACT. The estimated cost for advertising is $1,000.00.
Previous Commission action/date:
October 19, 2021 - Approved a fee increase of $137,500.00 for additional design services performed by TTL, Inc., for the County Road 20 Extension from Hickory Street South to County Road 65.
March 2, 2021 - The Commission waived Baldwin County Commission Policy #9.10 - Engineering, Environmental Monitoring and Surveying Services and approved on-call consultant TTL, Inc., to perform design services for the County Road 20 Extension Project with design fees not to exceed $250,000.00.
September 22, 2020 - The Commission adopted Resolution #2020-127 approving the Fiscal Year 2021 Budget allocating $535,000.00 for Design and Right-of-Way for the County Road 20 Extension Project.
