Recommendation
Award the bid for Project No. HW24087 - Renovations to Baldwin County Central Annex II Building Located in Robertsdale, Alabama, to the lowest responsible bidder, RE Johnson General Contractors, LLC, in the Bid Amount $182,800.00; Construction Time: 90 working days; and authorize the Chairman to execute the Contract.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: Bids were opened in the Purchasing Conference Room on January 21, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Seven (7) bids were received. The lowest bid was received from TRAFCO Contracting, LLC, however, they did not submit all the required documents with their response; therefore, their bid does not meet the required specifications. The Assistant County Engineer and Architect, Casey Tomecek with McCollough Architecture, Inc., reviewed the bid responses and submitted the certified Bid Tabulation and a letter recommending that the bid be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder, RE Johnson General Contractors, LLC, in the amount of $182,800.00. Previous Commission action/date:
12/02/2025 meeting: 1) Approved the general layout approach of the renovations of the Central Annex II 3rd and 4th floor; and 2) Approved and authorized the Chairman to execute the Professional Services Agreement for architectural services in the amount of $8,600.00 with McCollough Architecture, Inc., for the design of renovations to the Baldwin County Central Annex II building located in Robertsdale, Alabama, for the Highway Department and authorized the Architect and Purchasing Director to bid the project.
