STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Approve the requested route for the 16th Annual Tour de L.A.D.R. (Lower Alabama Doctors) Bike Ride and Run on Saturday, April 4, 2020.  The ride will begin at 7:30 a.m., starting at the Grand Hotel in Point Clear, traveling on Scenic Highway 98 onto County Road 1 to Pelican Point and back to the Grand Hotel in Point Clear.  The bike and run route will finish by 10:00 a.m.

 

The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, along with Fairhope Police Department, will assist with traffic control and security.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Previous Commission action/date:  February 25, 2019

 

Background:  On February 25, 2019, the Baldwin County Commission approved the 15th Annual Tour de L.A.D.R. (Lower Alabama Doctors) Bike Ride and Run on Saturday, March 30, 2019.

 

The Medical Society of Mobile County has coordinated volunteers and personnel to raise money for the Mobile Medical Endowment Trust Fund.  This will benefit Camp Rap-A-Home, a camp for children with cancer.
