Award Bid #WG26-15 for the Purchase and Installation of Fence and Gates at the Baldwin County BRATS Facility located at 918 Fairhope Avenue, Fairhope, Alabama, to the lowest bidder, Howell Fencing, for Option 2 in the amount of $45,888.00 as per the Award Listing and authorize the Chairman to execute the Contract.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: Bids were opened in the Purchasing Conference Room on February 23, 2026, at 1:30 P.M. Two (2) bids were received. The lowest bidder for both Option 1 and Option 2 was Howell Fencing. Staff recommends the Commission award the bid for the Purchase and Installation of Fence and Gates at the Baldwin County BRATS Facility located at 918 Fairhope Avenue, Fairhope, Alabama, to the lowest bidder, Howell Fencing, for Option 2 in the amount of $45,888.00 as per the Award Listing. Bid Tabulation is attached for review.
80% of this project will be funded by Federal Transit Administration grant funds (Section 5307/5339 Capital and Operating Assistance for Baldwin County/BRATS Fairhope-Daphne, AL UZA) and 20% matched by County funds.
Previous Commission action/date:
01/20/2026 meeting: 1) Approved the specifications and authorized the Purchasing Director to place a competitive bid for the Purchase and Installation of Fence and Gates at the Baldwin County BRATS Facility located at 918 Fairhope Avenue, Fairhope, Alabama; and 2) Further, authorized the Chairman/Purchasing Division Commissioner for the Baldwin County Commission to approve any necessary addendums or clarifications if required after the bid is advertised.
