Appointment of Interim Clerk/Treasurer and Adoption of Resolution #2019-077 - Authorization for Chairman and Clerk/Treasurer to Sign Bank Documents

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Take the following actions:

 

1)  Appoint Donna Bryars as Interim Clerk/Treasurer of the Baldwin County Commission, effective April 16, 2019.

 

Furthermore, the appointed Interim Clerk/Treasurer shall serve as, and is hereby appointed to perform and accomplish the duties of, License Inspector for Baldwin County, Alabama, as authorized per Section 40-12-10 of the Code of Alabama (1975), and said License Inspector is hereby authorized to perform those duties prescribed by the general laws of Alabama and local laws applicable to Baldwin County, Alabama.

 

2)  Adopt Resolution #2019-077, authorizing Chairman and Interim Clerk/Treasurer to sign all necessary bank documents such as bank signature cards, bank resolutions, bank night depository agreements, etc. that must be updated.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Previous Commission action/date:  N/A

 

Background:  With the appointment of Interim Clerk/Treasurer, the Commission must also appoint the individual to serve as the License Inspector for Baldwin County.

 

Various bank documents must be updated with the Clerk/Treasurer’s information. The above action authorizes the Interim Clerk/Treasurer to sign all such documents and for the current Chairman to continue signing documents.
