STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute the Public Works Contract and Certificate of Compliance with Delta Flooring, Inc., in the amount of $35,109.00 for the purchase and installation of new flooring on the first floor of the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office located in Robertsdale.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Background:  The Honorable Anthony Lowery, Baldwin County Sheriff, has requested that the Commission authorize the Purchasing Director to purchase new flooring for the first floor of Robertsdale Sheriff’s Office.  Two (2) quotes were received.  The lowest quote was received from Delta Flooring, Inc., in the amount of $35,109.00.

Act 2023- 542 mandates that the Sheriff’s Office must now bid any purchases from its Discretionary Account over $30,000.00.  Therefore, the Commission will need to follow the Public Works Law to purchase the flooring per the Sheriff’s request when utilizing the Discretionary Funds. Staff Recommends the Commission authorize the Chairman to execute the Public Works Contract and Certificate of Compliance.

 

The Sheriff’s Office will reimburse the Commission for the flooring from its Discretionary Funds.
