STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
Take the following actions:
1) Authorize the Purchasing Director to place a competitive bid for paving on County Road 65 from Underwood Road to County Road 28; and
2) Authorize the Chairman to execute any project-related documents.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: This project will support the Baldwin County Commission’s Strategic Plan Goals for Growth and Infrastructure Balance and Public Safety by improving and expanding the local road system. This project will provide 1.5 miles of new paved roadway parallel to State Road 59 in Foley.
Previous Commission action/date:
May 21, 2024 - The Commission approved the allocation of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds in the amount of $754,920.21 for the cost of the Drainage Improvements along County Road 65 Project, to include approximately 1.52 miles of road paving and 16,000 feet of stormwater drainage improvements to provide better flow, reduce up-stream flooding, stabilize the road and ditches, and prevent erosion and downstream sedimentation; and adopted Resolution #2024-117 of the Baldwin County Commission allocating up to $754,920.21 of the ARPA funds for the Drainage Improvements along County Road 65 Project.
September 22, 2020 - The Commission adopted Resolution #2020-127 approving the Fiscal Year 2021 Budget allocating $470,000.00 for Construction.
