Consider the request from Baldwin County High School to host its Cross-Country Championships Event at Live Oak Landing in Stockton, Alabama, on October 20, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The approval is contingent upon the event coordinator providing a certificate of liability insurance that meets county requirements prior to the event taking place.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: A request was received from Mr. Matthew Beckett, Cross-Country Coach and Science Teacher for Baldwin County High School, for the use of Live Oak Landing for the Cross-Country Championships Event on October 20, 2026, beginning at 2:00 pm and ending at 7:00 pm. The Baldwin County Cross-Country Championships is an event held every year in October where cross-country teams from every high school in Baldwin County compete. There are two races in the championship meet, followed by an awards ceremony which will be held in the pavilion. Mr. Beckett is requesting to bring pop-up tents, DJ setup, and to set out flags to mark the racecourse. BCHS is not requesting park fees to be waived or park closure to the public. Admission to the event is free, but a $10 parking fee to race attendees.
Previous Commission action/date: 08/05/2025 - Authorized Baldwin County High School to host the Cross-Country Championship event at Baldwin County Bicentennial Park in Stockton, Alabama, on Thursday, October 16, 2025, and waived the park rental fee associated with the event.
