Recommendation
Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $49,501.00 for additional roof work required at the Foley Satellite Courthouse with Double AA Construction Company, LLC, for Bid #WG26-33 - Labor and Incidental Materials for Roof Replacement and Maintenance to Various County Buildings for the Baldwin County Commission.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: The Facilities Management Department is submitting for Commission approval Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $49,501.00 for additional roof work that is required at the Foley Satellite Courthouse. The additional work is for labor and materials to remove existing shingle roof system to Load-Master roof deck system consisting of two layers of gypsum board and one layer of polyisocyanurate installation. Mechanically attach 5/8” CDX plywood over the Load-Master deck system using 7” nail base screws at a rate of 25 fasteners per sheet of plywood decking.
Previous Commission action/date:
08/04/2026 meeting: Awarded Bid #WG26-33 for Labor and Incidental Materials for Roof Replacement and Maintenance to Various County Buildings to the lowest bidder, Double AA Construction Company, LLC, per the Award Listing and authorized the Chairman to execute the contract.
06/16/2026 meeting: 1) Approved the specifications and authorized the Purchasing Director to place a competitive bid for labor and incidental materials for roof replacement and maintenance to various County buildings; and 2) Further, authorized the Chairman/Purchasing Division Commissioner for the Baldwin County Commission to approve any necessary addendums or clarifications if required after the bid is advertised; and 3) Approved and authorized the Purchasing Director to issue a Purchase Order to Garland/DBS, Inc. in the amount not to exceed $250,000.00 for the roofing materials which are being purchased via the OMNIA Partners Public Sector national purchasing cooperative.
