Recommendation

Approve the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for Engineering / Environmental Services for the Dauphin Island Sea Lab / Mobile Bay National Estuary Program’s Baldwin County Monitoring Task - Low Impact Development (LID) Practices / Techniques Suspended Solids and Nutrient Load Reduction Excel Site Review Tool and authorize the Purchasing Director to advertise the RFQ.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Background:  The Planning and Zoning Department is requesting the Commission approve the attached solicitation for engineering/environmental services for the Dauphin Island Sea Lab / Mobile Bay National Estuary Program’s Baldwin County Monitoring Task - Low Impact Development (LID) Practices / Techniques Suspended Solids and Nutrient Load Reduction Excel Site Review Tool. The consultant chosen will develop an LID site review tool, incorporate the tool results into the County’s permit applications and review process, and provide hands-on training for staff and local professionals. Staff recommends that the Commission approve the RFQ and authorize the Purchasing Director to advertise.

 

This project will be funded by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021.

 

Previous Commission action/date: 

07/16/2025 meeting: Approved the Amended Subrecipient Agreement with the Dauphin Island Sea Lab and Mobile Bay National Estuary Program for Baldwin County Stream Gauge Monitoring.

 

05/20/2025 meeting: Approved the Subrecipient Agreement with the Dauphin Island Sea Lab and Mobile Bay National Estuary Program for Baldwin County Stream Gauge Monitoring.
