STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute the Contract with Thompson Engineering, Inc., for the Engineering / Environmental Services for the Dirt Road Paving Project - Bruhn Road from County Road 87 to Breman Road in the estimated amount of $198,000.00.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Background:  The Commission, during its February 18, 2025, Regular Meeting, authorized County staff to begin contract negotiations with Thompson Engineering, Inc., so that a final recommendation could be brought to the Commission for approval. Thompson Engineering, Inc., has submitted a Contract for Engineering / Environmental Services for the Dirt Road Paving Project - Bruhn Road from County Road 87 to Breman Road which includes the following five tasks in order to complete the contract scope:

 

1) Topographic Surveys $36,000.00

2) Geotechnical Engineering Services $21,100.00

3) Environmental Services $14,500.00

4) Roadway Plans $122,500.00

5) Bidding Assistance $3,900.00

 

The total estimated Contract is $198,000.00. Based on information from the five task items above, additional services will be required to complete the design of the project. Another contract with additional tasks will be brought to the Commission at that time.

 

Previous Commission action/date: 

02/18/2025 meeting: Authorized staff to begin negotiations with Thompson Engineering, Inc., so that a final recommendation for award can be made to the Commission for Engineering / Environmental Services for the Dirt Road Paving Project - Bruhn Road from County Road 87 to Breman Road.

 

10/15/2024 meeting: Authorized the Purchasing Director to place advertisements for FY 2025 RFQ for Engineering Services for the Highway projects listed below:
