Recommendation

Authorize the Chairman to execute a Hold Harmless / Indemnity Agreement between the Baldwin County Commission and United Bank related to returning funds held in the accounts for the Baldwin County Library Cooperative, Inc.

Previous Commission action/date:  

07/02/2024 BCC Regular Meeting - The County Commission authorized the County Administrator to disburse various circulation materials recovered from the Baldwin County Library Cooperative, Inc. among the member libraries of the Baldwin County Public Library System for public library purposes.

 

06/18/2024 BCC Regular Meeting - The County Commission approved a revised Intergovernmental Agreement between the Baldwin County Commission and the municipal library boards in Baldwin County, for the County Commission to facilitate the joint library services system for the municipal libraries in Baldwin County. The revision facilitates the state aid going directly to each participating library and the County billing the associated fee for the joint library services, per the determination by the Alabama Public Library System (APLS). The revised agreement supersedes and makes null and void the previous agreement approved by the Commission on June 4, 2024. 

 

06/04/2024 BCC Regular Meeting - The County Commission 1) Adopted Resolution #2024-124 dissolving the Baldwin County Library Board; 2) Approved an Intergovernmental Agreement between the Baldwin County Commission and the municipal library boards in Baldwin County, for the County Commission to facilitate the joint library services system for the municipal libraries in Baldwin County; 3) Authorized the County Attorney and the County Administrator to take any and all actions necessary to:  a) Dissolve the Baldwin County Library Cooperative, Inc., a domestic non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation; b) Transfer and/or recovery of all assets of the Baldwin County Library Cooperative, Inc. to the Baldwin County Commission; and c) Transfer all contractual agreements from The County Library Cooperative, Inc., to the Baldwin County Commission deemed necessary for the purpose of the County Commission to continue providing joint library services for the public library system in Baldwin County, Alabama.
