STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute Change Order #1 with TripTek Construction, LLC, in the credit amount of ($10,000.00) on the Construction of Miscellaneous Protective Partitions at Various Buildings.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Background:  The Architect, Patrick Addison with PH&J Architects, Inc., is submitting for Commission approval Change Order #1 in the credit amount of ($10,000.00) on the Construction of Miscellaneous Protective Partitions at Various Buildings. The original contract included a $10,000.00 contingency allowance that was not used.

The original construction cost of $253,200.00 will be decreased to the new construction cost of $243,200.00.

See attached Summary of Previous ARPA Commission Action.

 

Previous Commission action/date: 

07/02/2024 meeting: 1) Awarded the bid for the Miscellaneous Protective Partitions at Various Buildings to the lowest bidder, TripTek Construction, LLC, in the bid amount of $253,200.00, Construction Time: 180 days (Sundays & Holidays included); and 2) Authorized the Chairman to execute the Contract.

01/17/2023 meeting: Approved and authorized the Chairman to execute the Professional Services Contract with PH & J Architects, Inc., in the amount of 6.5% of the construction cost for the Design of Protective Partitions in various Baldwin County Commission facilities. (Funding will be from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA funds).

Total cost of recommendation:  $10,000.00 credit to the County.
