STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Approve a Boat Storage Agreement with Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Marine Patrol Division for use of the storage area and boat lifts at Live Oak Landing.

 

The Agreement will commence on October 1, 2025, and terminate on September 30, 2026.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Background:  Corporal Jessie Peacock with ALEA Marine Patrol Division is requesting the Commission approve a Boat Storage Agreement to allow the State to use the storage area and boat lifts at Live Oak Landing.

 

Previous Commission action/date: 

October 5, 2021 - The Commission approved the purchase and installation of one (1) new 20,000-pound boat lift, with remote and limiter switch from Gillis Construction, Inc., in the amount of $14,500.00 for the Marine Police Boat House located at Live Oak Landing Park and authorized the Purchasing Director to issue a Purchase Order for the work.

 

December 3, 2013 - The Commission approved the request from Corporal Jessie Peacock for the allocation of an area at Live Oak Landing for the Alabama Marine Police to park their assets during future flood events, as needed; and authorized the Chairman to send a letter to Colonel Walter S. Thompson, Director of the Alabama Marine Police, approving the same.
