STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
Take the following actions:
1) Raise the speed limit on Monk Road from 25 MPH to 35 MPH; and
2) Lower the speed limit on County Road 3 between Yeene Lane and Monk Road from 45 MPH to 35 MPH; and
3) Establish a 45 MPH speed limit on County Road 65 between Underwood Road and County Road 28.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: A recent safety improvement project was completed at the intersection of Monk Road and County Road 3. The stop condition for this intersection was changed from westbound Monk Road to northbound County Road 3 to make this a T-intersection. Adjustments to the speed limits are needed to enhance the effectiveness of this project. This intersection is in the jurisdiction of the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office.
County Road 65 between Underwood Road and County Road 28 is a recent dirt road paving project and an appropriate speed limit needs to be established. This section of County Road 65 is in the jurisdiction of Summerdale Police Department.
