Approve Change Order #1 for Project No. HW23067 – Drainage Improvements on County Road 11 (Greeno Road) in the amount of $309,213.46 with Arrington Curb & Excavation Inc. and authorize the Chairman to execute the Change Order.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Background: The Highway Department is submitting for Commission approval Change Order #1 for Project No. HW23067 – Drainage Improvements on County Road 11 (Greeno Road) in the amount of $309,213.46. The change order includes details of increased and decreased plan quantities of various materials and will not increase the contract time. Mark Acreman, Assistant County Engineer, submitted a letter explaining why the Change Order is in excess of the normal 10%. Due to the extraordinary circumstances with the project the change order is necessary to complete this project.

Previous Commission action/date:
05/07/2024 meeting: Awarded the bid for Project No. HW23067 – Drainage Improvements on CR 11 (Greeno Rd) to the lowest bidder, Arrington Curb & Excavation Inc., in the Bid Amount $1,977,851.68; Construction Time: 150 working days; and authorized the Chairman to execute the Contract.
02/20/2024 meeting: 1) Approved the allocation of “real” ARPA funds in the amount of $2,000,000.00 for the cost of the Drainage Improvements along CR 11 Project, to include the improvements to the existing stormwater system to mitigate flooding impacts and improve safety; and 2) Adopted Resolution #2024-042 of the BCC allocating up to $2,000,000.00 of the ARPA funds for the Drainage Improvements along CR 11 Project and; 3) Approved the Chairman to execute any project related documents.
02/06/2024 meeting: 1) Approved the Purchasing Director to place a competitive bid for the CR 11 (Greeno Road) Drainage Improvement Project; and 2) Approved the Chairman to execute any project related documents.
