STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Award the bid for Project No. HW24096 - Lillian Recreation Center to the lowest responsible bidder, Gibson Construction Services, LLC in the Bid Amount of $377,586.00; Construction Time: 75 working days; and authorize the Chairman to execute the Contract.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Background:  Bids were opened in the Purchasing Conference Room on December 17, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.  Four (4) bids were received.  The lowest bid was received from R. H. Deas Building Co., LLC, however, they did not submit all the required documents with their response, therefore, their bid does not meet the required specifications.  The Assistant County Engineer, Mark Acreman, reviewed the bid responses and submitted the certified Bid Tabulation and a letter recommending that the bid be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder, Gibson Construction Services, LLC in the amount of $377,586.00.  Certified Bid Tabulation attached for review.

 

Previous Commission action/date: 

09/02/2025 meeting:  1) Approved the Purchasing Director to place a competitive bid for improvements to the Lillian Recreation Center; and 2) Approved the Chairman to execute any project related documents.
