STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Adopt the updated Access Management Plan for the Baldwin Beach Express II from Interstate 10 to Interstate 65.

End

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Background:  The purpose of the updated Access Management Plan (AMP) is to establish consistent access standards for existing and future access to the Baldwin Beach Express corridor extending from Interstate 10 to Interstate 65. This segment of the Baldwin Beach Express is intended to function as an efficient regional roadway while also providing reasonable access to adjacent properties consistent with access management principles and the functional classification of the corridor.

The AMP update replaces the previously adopted Access Management Plan approved on February 4, 2014, and reflects the planned design and long-term function of the corridor, providing clearer guidance and flexibility in how access is managed. Adoption of the updated AMP will support consistent and predictable access decisions aligned with current County regulations.

Previous Commission action/date:  February 4, 2014 - The Commission approved the Access Management Plan for the Baldwin Beach Express from Interstate 65 to Interstate 10.
