STAFF RECOMMENDATION

Recommendation

Approve the Tri-Party Intergovernmental Service Agreement between the Baldwin County Commission, Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, and the City of Loxley for housing of City of Loxley inmates at the Baldwin County Corrections Center.

 

The Agreement will commence on October 1, 2026, and terminate on September 30, 2027, or upon written notification of termination by either party within the required sixty (60) days.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

 

Background:  The City of Loxley contracts with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office and the Baldwin County Commission to house their inmates. The Tri-Party Intergovernmental Service Agreement between the Baldwin County Commission, Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, and the City of Loxley, has been approved each year since October 1, 2008.

 

The housing fee collected by the Sheriff’s Office goes into the Sheriff’s Office Food Bill Account for payment of feeding inmates.

 

Previous Commission action/date:  November 6, 2025 - Approved the Tri-Party Intergovernmental Service Agreement between the BCC, BCSO and the City of Loxley, for housing of City of Loxley inmates at the Baldwin County Corrections Center.
